Mohtasham Kashani

Kamal al-Din Ali Mohtasham Kashani, an Iranian poet in the beginning of the 16 th century, born in Kashan- Iran. He is one the most famous panegyrist poets and his poems are mostly about agony and dificulties of the shia Imams' life. His most reputation is for the elegiac couplet about "the battle of Karbala". His poems were collected into six books which include: rhymed couplet, odes, elegiac couplet and lyric poems. Mohtasham died in 1588, was buried in Kashan and his tomb is now a place of pilgrimage.
