Abu Hashem Seyyed Ismail, the most famous Shi'ite Arab poet, born in 722, in Oman. His birth was in time of Imam Bagher (p.b.u.h) and also was contemporary with Imam Sadiq and Imam Kazem (Shia Imams). Hemyari was one of the great Arab poets, he wrote too many poems but only 2300 of his elegies have been collected so far. His poems are mostly on the Prophet (Muhammad) and Shia Imams (p.b.u.t). He had acquaintance with the Quran, Hadith, Islamic history, jurisprudence and also the life and manner of Imams and the Holy Prophet. Hemyari died at the age of 68 or 74 in Baghdad.
