This book which is written by Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, is going to make us familiar with hajj.

The author

Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli is a contemporary Iranian scholar, born in 1934 in Amol- Iran, into a religious and scholarly family. After finishing the primary school in 1947, entered Amol Seminary and studied up to 1951 then went to Tehran Seminary and studied intellectual and ####transmitted sciences in Marvi Madrasa, finally went to Qom and continued in Qom Seminary. The following works have been written by him:
1- Tasnim
2- The Quranic Commentary
3- Subject commentary of the Quran
4- The Secrets of Prayer
5- The Rule of Jurisprudent

Structure of the book
The book contains four sections as following:
1- The aspects of hajj; including 6 chapters:
1) Islam as a general and eternal religion
2) The position of hajj in Islam
3) Hajj in the Quran
4) Hajj as the image of the principles of beliefs
5) Guardianship as the spirit of hajj
6) The political aspect of hajj

2- The possibility of hajj; including 10 chapters:
1) Arafaat (mountain near Mecca)
2) Mash’ar and Menaa
3) Zamzam
4) Abraham the Prophet’s Position
5) The Black Stone
6) Safa and Marweh
7) Miqaat
8) The divine holy shrine and Mecca
9) Kaaba
10) Al-Haraam Mosque (Masjed al-Haraam)

3- The rituals of hajj, including 12 chapters:
1) The secrets of worship
2) The secrets of hajj
3) Ihraam (pilgrims’ garb)
4) Tawaaf (the act of walking around Kaaba)
5) The prayer of Tawaaf
6) Sa’i
7) Taqsir
8) Stopping in Menna
9) Stopping in Arafaat
10) Shaving head (for men)
11) Shooting small stones at Satan
12) The end of hajj

4- pilgrimage:
1) pilgrimage at the end of hajj
2) the Prophet’s feast, etc.
